The Founding Cadre

Lead a seat. Build the society.

Before membership opens, we're putting together the founding cadre: the leaders who build this organization, set its roles and training, and hold the standard everyone after them is measured against. The seats are limited and numbered.

Leads still open: Communications, Medical Director, Operations, Emergency Management, Legal and Content. We're actively looking for the right people to own these seats.

Communications

Lead open

Keep everyone connected when nothing else works.

What this seat does

Builds and runs the chapter radio program: the DMR network, the repeater and talkgroup plan, the programming files, and the field doctrine that keeps everyone talking.

What we look for

Licensed amateur or professional radio operators, dispatchers, or military / public-safety comms specialists who can teach others to operate confidently.

Firearms

Safe, lawful, genuinely skilled shooters.

What this seat does

Leads rifle and pistol fundamentals, range safety, and a progression that puts safety and the law first, every session.

What we look for

Certified firearms instructors out of law enforcement, the military, or nationally recognized programs, with a spotless record and the temperament to teach.

Medical

The skills that save a life before help arrives.

What this seat does

Teaches tactical and wilderness medicine: bleeding control, airway, trauma, and the calm that only comes from drilling it.

What we look for

Physicians, nurses, paramedics, EMTs, or military medics, active or retired, who can build a curriculum and teach it to beginners.

Apply for this seat

Medical Director

Lead open

The physician who stands behind every protocol.

What this seat does

Provides medical direction for the whole program: approves protocols and scope of practice, reviews the curriculum and the field kit, and puts a licensed physician behind what we teach so it holds to a real clinical standard.

What we look for

A licensed physician, MD or DO, ideally in emergency, EMS or trauma medicine, who will stand behind our protocols and keep the medical program honest. Experience as a medical director for an EMS agency or tactical team is a strong plus.

Apply for this seat

Rescue

Rope, water, and the judgment to use them.

What this seat does

Runs rope and swift-water rescue training: rigging, movement over bad ground, and the judgment that keeps rescuers safe.

What we look for

Fire-rescue, swift-water, or technical-rescue professionals with current certifications and real field experience.

Apply for this seat

Operations

Lead open

Turn a group of professionals into a chapter that runs.

What this seat does

Owns planning, logistics and the calendar. Makes training happen on time, on standard, and on the right side of the law.

What we look for

Military NCOs / officers, project managers, or operations leaders who can organize people and keep a standard without ego.

Apply for this seat

Emergency Management

Lead open

Stand up a unit that can answer a real disaster.

What this seat does

Builds and leads our Emergency Response Unit: the plan, the training, and the coordination that let members deploy safely to assist in natural disasters and major emergencies, in support of the authorities running the response.

What we look for

Emergency managers, incident commanders, or search-and-rescue and disaster-response leaders who know the incident command system and can organize people to work safely alongside professional responders.

Apply for this seat

Legal

Lead open

Keep us lawful, and able to prove it.

What this seat does

Advises the chapter on firearms and use-of-force law, liability, waivers, and how we are organized, and reviews our standards and member agreements so everything we do is lawful and defensible.

What we look for

Licensed attorneys who work in firearms and Second Amendment law, criminal defense, or business and civil-liability practice, and can turn hard legal questions into clear guidance for instructors and members.

Content

Lead open

Document the work. Tell the story. Make it look as serious as it is.

What this seat does

Owns photography, video and written content: capturing training, cutting recruiting and instructional media, and keeping the Paratus brand disciplined across every channel.

What we look for

Photographers, videographers and editors who can work safely around live training and make serious work look as serious as it is. Tactical, outdoor or action-sports experience is a plus.

What we offer

  • No membership dues. The Founding Cadre serve the chapter. They don't pay to belong to it.
  • Paid to teach. Cadre are eligible to be paid for the specialty classes they run through the society.
  • A founding, numbered seat, and first access to specialty courses.

What we expect

Real credentials, the temperament to lead and to teach, and a commitment to safety, the law, and the people you serve. Every seat helps build the society, not just run a class.

The process

Apply below, then an interview. Submitting an application is not acceptance. Every seat is earned.

Not an instructor, but want in?
